During the Covid-19 pandemic there has been an significant increase in public transport shortages. Coatham Coaches have been at the forefront of all the government and transport guidelines ensuring we are able to transport the essential key works in clean, safe modern busses and coaches. All our drivers and coaches are now configured to ensure strict social distancing guidelines are met and to adhere to all the government and transport industry cleanliness standards.

Are you still open?
Our office and depot is open during normal business hours of 0900 to 1730 Monday to Friday. If you have any questions regarding travel and our precautionary measures or you require key worker transport you can reach us via phone, email or website contact forms.
What measures do you have in place to reduce the spread of Covid-19 to protect passengers and staff?
Coatham Coaches are committed to reducing the spread of any disease and maintain the health of our staff and passengers. We are fully complying with cleanliness guidelines, social distancing and delivering our service in adherence of essential travel legislation. We follow the Government guidance relating to our transport industry and have developed robust procedures that are followed by all our staff when preparing our vehicles prior to and after the hire of our coaches.
How are you enforcing social distancing?
Your safety and the safety of our drivers is our number one focus. We have implemented a number of measures including access and egress rules for the coaches, protection measures for the drivers and demarked the seating. Our drivers will be able to instruct fully on the measures in place for your safety.
How do you know that the people travelling on your buses are actually making an essential journey?
The government guidelines remains,
Stay at Home, Protect the NHS, Save Lives.
If you can work from home we strongly encourage you to do so in line with the guidance. We appreciate that there are a number of key and essential workers for whom this is not an options and we encourage those individuals to only travelling when essential and practise social distancing. All of our current clients are keyworkers or companies needing to transport key workers whilst maintaining social distancing.
Are there any extra measures I should take whilst travelling?
If you need to travel during this time we ask that you follow any directions given by our drivers or via the onboard signs. It has been well publicised that the best way to protect against Covid-19 is by thoroughly cleaning your hands with an alcohol-based hand rub or wash them with soap and water often and for at least 20 seconds. additionally, you may consider the use of rubber gloves while in public places.
Have you furloughed some of your staff?
It has been necessary to furlough some of our staff during this time. We continue to keep in regular contact as a team and spirits are high. While some travel decreased, such as schools transport, these have been replaced by new contracts to support key and essential worker transport. As we begin to fulfil these contracts we have been able to bring the team back to work.
